It also proposes retaining the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) as the primary enforcement body while establishing national and state task forces for coordinated action.
Key stakeholders, including Senators Samson Ekong and Adams Oshiomhole, emphasized the urgent need for stricter penalties, noting that counterfeit drugs contribute to kidney diseases and other organ failures.
