Dennis Itumbi, Digital Strategist and Head of Creative Economy in the Office of the President, has raised alarms over escalating political tensions in Mt Kenya.He revealed that he had to evacuate 20 United Democratic Alliance (UDA) mobilizers from Rurii, Ol Kalou, after they reported threats and harassment.The mobilizers were allegedly forced to stay overnight at a police station for safety.

Itumbi urged the police to act swiftly against those instigating violence and terrorizing residents, emphasizing that democracy thrives on persuasion, not fear.

He condemned politics of threats and fear, calling on Kenyans to compete fiercely at the ballot, shake hands afterward, and build communities together.The incident comes amid post-by-election violence in Ol Kalou, which saw two fatalities.

Itumbi also criticized DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua for not embracing UDA's opponents after previous losses, stressing that political rivalry should not turn neighbors into enemies.
