A power outage caused by a cable fault at the Dhabeji pumping station has led to the temporary shutdown of three critical pumps, significantly reducing Karachi's water supply by 75 million gallons per day.

The Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) confirmed that the disruption affects areas including North Nazimabad, Gulberg Town, New Karachi, and parts of Scheme 33.The incident highlights the vulnerability of the city's water infrastructure, which relies heavily on stable electricity.KWSC officials stated they are in contact with KE for power restoration and urge residents to conserve water.

This follows a similar incident at the K-2 pumping station earlier this month, underscoring systemic challenges in maintaining uninterrupted water services.
