President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.conducted an aerial inspection of the Malampaya Phase 4 Project off Palawan, emphasizing the administration's focus on enhancing energy security through domestic natural gas production.The project involves developing three new wells: Malampaya East-1 (MAE-1), Camago-3, and Bagong Pag-asa-1.MAE-1 and Camago-3 are expected to contribute 222 billion cubic feet of natural gas, with deliveries targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026.

The inspection was part of Marcos' visit to Palawan, which included events like the inauguration of the Ibato-Iraan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project and meetings with wounded Philippine Navy personnel.The initiative aims to reduce reliance on imported energy sources, aligning with broader efforts to strengthen national energy independence.
