Tanzania and Mozambique Strengthen Strategic Partnership for Regional Cooperation
Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan has urged stakeholders to prioritize innovation as the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), known as Sabasaba, celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, President Samia highlighted the trade fair’s role as a critical platform for connecting producers with buyers, businesses with markets, and investors with opportunities.
The event has transformed livelihoods across sectors, enabling small-scale traders, farmers, and entrepreneurs to access global markets and secure investments.
She emphasized Tanzania’s growing influence in regional and international trade, noting the country’s strategic position as a gateway to East Africa, Southern Africa, and beyond.
The 50th edition saw increased participation from international exhibitors, including Chinese companies, underscoring the fair’s expanding global reach.
President Samia called for continued innovation to maintain the DITF’s competitiveness in an interconnected world economy, aligning with Africa’s focus on intra-continental trade and economic integration.The fair serves as a barometer of Tanzania’s economic health and a showcase for its industrial and commercial progress.
