Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, who previously accused President Bola Tinubu's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, of bribery, has been moved from the Nigeria Police Force's Intelligence Response Team (IRT) detention facility to the National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) in Abuja.Sources say the reasons for the transfer remain undisclosed.Adeyemi was arrested in Osun State and spent two nights in IRT custody before the move.The police have not issued an official statement on his arrest or the investigation.This comes after Gbajabiamila filed a ₦15 billion defamation lawsuit against Adeyemi over allegations of demanding a 48% kickback from a ₦27.3 billion grant.The suit seeks ₦10 billion in damages and an apology.Gbajabiamila denies the claims, stating he had no relationship with Adeyemi.Adeyemi is also facing a trial for forgery and impersonation, having falsely presented himself as the head of a non-existent agency.The case highlights ongoing tensions between political figures and legal challenges in Nigeria.
