The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has officially cleared three aspirants to contest for its presidential primary ahead of the party’s upcoming election.The approved candidates include Dr.Nnaoke Ufere from Abia State, Engr.Yakubu Mohammed Kingsley from Edo State, and former Cross River State governor, Donald Duke.

According to the party, the primary will be conducted using the direct primary method, allowing party members across the country to participate directly in selecting the flag bearer.

In a statement released by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Muhammed Ishaq, the PRP stressed its commitment to democratic values, transparency, and fairness in the selection process.

He explained that the three aspirants have agreed to submit themselves to the will of party members during the primaries scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2026, to be held nationwide.

The party further noted that it is proud of the calibre of aspirants participating in its internal processes, describing them as individuals committed to teamwork and democratic principles.

The PRP also highlighted that over 260 aspirants are competing for various elective positions within the party, especially in areas where consensus could not be reached.The leadership reiterated its resolve to conduct credible and transparent primaries that will reflect the true choice of its members.

This development shows the party’s effort to strengthen internal democracy and present a strong candidate for the general election through a fair competitive process among its members.
