Jayrex Joseph Bustinera emphasized that the facility has a dedicated infirmary with in-house medical staff and diagnostic labs capable of managing communicable diseases.Marcoleta, arrested for a P75-million plunder case involving undeclared campaign donations, was detained at the Sandiganbayan last July 6.His condition worsened to mild pneumonia and degenerative disc disease two days after arrest.The jail's cells, measuring 50 square meters each with five double-deck beds and two bathrooms, are designed for up to 10 inmates.High-profile detainees like Marcoleta are housed with the general population but classified by case type.The facility currently holds around 3,300 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) out of its 4,000 capacity.BJMP assured no VIP treatment for high-profile inmates, stressing equal rights and humane conditions.The jail's layout includes indoor activity areas, libraries, and scheduled visitor access, even during the rainy season.
