Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has established a multisectoral committee to coordinate the city's efforts in fulfilling its UNESCO commitments.The committee, known as the Quezon City Learning, Information and Culture Committee, will oversee initiatives related to UNESCO Creative City of Film, UNESCO Media and Information Literacy Pilot City, and UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities.

Belmonte emphasized that these recognitions signify a commitment to empowering citizens through education, culture, and access to reliable information.The committee, chaired by Belmonte, includes representatives from key city departments, educational institutions, and partner organizations.

Its responsibilities include developing action plans, strengthening partnerships, monitoring program implementation, and leading public awareness campaigns on education, media literacy, lifelong learning, and culture.

The initiative aims to enhance community engagement, resilience, and informed participation in civic life through collaborative efforts across sectors.
