A devastating road crash on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway claimed seven lives and left five others injured, according to eyewitness accounts and police statements.The incident, which occurred on Friday night, involved a collision between a Nakuru-bound truck and a matatu carrying 11 passengers.The Toyota Hiace, owned by Eldoret Crossroads, was hit by the truck at Kamara in the Mau Summit area, resulting in immediate fatalities.
Police Commander John Kimutai confirmed that five people died at the scene, including the matatu driver, while two others succumbed to their injuries during emergency treatment.
Relatives described the tragic moments leading up to the crash, with one family member recalling a final phone call with his sister, Susan Odanga Apiyo, who was en route to Eldoret.
