A road crash involving a matatu and a trailer on the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway resulted in six fatalities and five injuries.According to Kuresoi North Sub-County Police Commander John Kimutai, the incident occurred around 8:30pm when a trailer ascending the Nyanja slope swerved right and collided head-on with a matatu traveling from Eldoret to Nakuru.The matatu, owned by Eldoret Crossroad sacco, was carrying passengers heading towards Nakuru.Five people died immediately, including the driver, while one injured passenger later succumbed to their injuries at Londiani Sub-County Hospital.The truck driver sustained minor injuries and is being processed.The injured were rushed to Londiani Sub-County Hospital for treatment.The police emphasized the severity of the accident, highlighting the need for road safety measures to prevent such incidents.This incident underscores the ongoing challenges of road safety in Kenya, particularly on major highways.
