The Southern African Development Community (SADC) will host its 46th Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government in Durban, South Africa, on 17 August 2026.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will chair the summit under the theme 'Resilient, sustainable and inclusive industrialisation through Infrastructure Development, Agricultural and Critical Minerals Transformation in Pursuit of a Just World'.

The event aims to advance regional integration by addressing economic trends, progress on previous summit decisions, implementation of the 45th Summit's agenda, regional food security, disaster preparedness, and geopolitical impacts.

Key pre-summit meetings will include discussions on the Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP) 2020-2030, the SADC Regional Development Fund, and sector-specific strategies.

The summit underscores SADC's commitment to fostering a competitive, climate-resilient region through collaborative industrialisation and inclusive growth initiatives.
