The impeachment prosecution of Vice President Sara Duterte has decided to drop six witnesses related to the alleged threat against President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, and ex-Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Lead prosecutor Gerville Luistro stated that the testimony of National Bureau of Investigation director Melvin Matibag is sufficient to prove Article 4 of the impeachment case.

The dropped witnesses include a representative from the Philippine National Police Firearms and Explosives Office, journalists Mikhail Flores and Bonz Magsumbol, Sheriff Abe Andres, a victim's family member, and a psychiatrist.

Luistro argued that the authenticity of the video evidence and the defense's admission of its authenticity have already established the case's strength.Prosecutor Lorenz Defensor echoed this, emphasizing that the quality of evidence matters more than quantity.The Senate's voting schedule was adjusted to accommodate the prosecution's subpoena request for Duterte's bank and tax records.The case is seen as well-supported with complete evidence, though some concerns about overcomplication remain.
