Security forces kill 10 militants and arrest two female suicide bombers during intelligence-based operations in Balochistan

Pakistan's security forces carried out two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in the Mastung and Surab districts of Balochistan over the past 48 hours, during which 10 militants were killed and two female suicide bombers were arrested, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military said the operations were part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign aimed at dismantling militant networks and their facilitators operating in the province.During the operation in Surab, security personnel engaged suspected militant hideouts and killed seven militants.

In a separate operation in Mastung, three more militants were killed, while two female suicide bombers and an alleged facilitator were taken into custody.Security forces also recovered weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices from the sites. The ISPR stated that sanitisation operations are continuing to ensure that any remaining militants in the area are located and eliminated.

The military added that these actions are being conducted under the broader national counterterrorism strategy, Azm-e-Istehkam, which was approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.

The statement also referred to recent security operations launched after a deadly attack on a police checkpost in Ziarat, saying that Operation Shaban has resulted in the killing of at least 129 militants, according to security sources.

Earlier this month, Balochistan witnessed three separate terrorist attacks in which 42 people, including security personnel and civilians, lost their lives. The operations reflect the state's continued focus on counterterrorism efforts in the province.
