IOC and ANOCA recognize Mtaka as TOC president after disputed election probe
Simba SC, the Mainland Premier League giants, have confirmed they will report to their pre-season training camp on July 18 as they gear up for the 2025 CECAFA Kagame Cup.The regional tournament, hosted in Rwanda from July 24 to August 8, serves as a crucial part of their preparations for the upcoming 2026/27 season.
The draw for the group stage was conducted by former Simba and Young Africans midfielder Haruna Niyonzima, placing Simba in Group B alongside Singida Black Stars, Jamus FC of South Sudan, and Mogadishu City Club of Somalia.
A Simba official emphasized that the camp will help sharpen the squad ahead of the new campaign, stating, 'The team will enter camp on July 18 to prepare for the Kagame Cup, which forms an important part of our build-up to the new season.
' Singida Black Stars head coach Muhibu Kanu noted that competing against strong opponents in Group B will provide a true assessment of their squad's strength.The tournament also acts as a strategic step for other teams like Yanga and Vipers SC, who are preparing for their own campaigns.
This preparation phase highlights the importance of regional competitions in building competitive edge before major domestic and international fixtures.
