Two 14-year-old dancers from Knysna, Fiah-Bella Fredericks and Chioma Tagbo, have made history by becoming world champions at the Dance the World event in Walt Disney World.

Selected through the Theatre Dance Organisation's MOVE competition, they competed against 3,500 dancers from 20 countries across 12 genres, winning gold in the Intermediate Hip Hop Duet category.Tagbo also secured silver in her solo category and bronze in evening dance selections.Their success was bolstered by community support, with Tagbo's trip funded through collective efforts.The duo, trained at MACX Academy, also participated in the World Dance Disney Parade and workshops with industry experts.Their victory has inspired a new generation of dancers in South Africa, with the academy now receiving numerous collaboration requests.The dancers plan to continue competing and refining their skills ahead of the Nelson Mandela Bay Festival.
