Tanzania Serengeti Boys to Meet Senegal in AFCON Final After Historic Run
Taifa Stars, Tanzania’s national football team, have announced a 24-player squad for upcoming international friendly matches against Uganda and Rwanda, which will be played in Marrakesh, Morocco.The fixtures are scheduled for June 5 against Uganda and June 9 against Rwanda, and are part of the FIFA international match calendar.These matches are considered an important step in preparing the team for future continental competitions and World Cup qualifying campaigns.Head coach Miguel Gamondi has selected a balanced squad combining experienced players and young emerging talent.
The selection heavily features players from Tanzania’s top domestic clubs, including Azam FC, Simba SC, and Young Africans SC, reflecting the strength and competitiveness of the local league.
Key domestic-based players include Aishi Manula, Zuber Foba, Pascal Msindo, Nickson Kibabage, Ibrahim Hamad, Elias Lawi, and Bakari Mwamnyeto, among others.The squad also includes several foreign-based players who bring international experience to the team.

Coach Gamondi views the Morocco friendlies as a key opportunity to test tactical systems, evaluate squad depth, and improve cohesion ahead of more competitive fixtures.Playing on neutral ground is also seen as beneficial for simulating tournament conditions.
