The Tanzanian government, in partnership with the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM), has successfully collected 2.6 billion shillings through a dedicated levy system to fund HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment programs.This marks a significant step toward sustainable financing of health interventions, reducing reliance on external donors.The funds will support antiretroviral therapy, testing services, community education, and care for people living with HIV.The initiative aligns with global trends toward self-reliance in health financing, as international donor support faces increasing pressure.
