The Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) has emerged as a pivotal platform for Tanzania's economic transformation, securing billions in sales and export orders while reinforcing the nation's goal to become East Africa's premier trade hub.

The event, which attracted over 61% of exhibitors to secure international business opportunities, highlighted Tanzania's shift toward local manufacturing, with over half of the products displayed being domestically produced.This aligns with the government's economic reform agenda to reduce import dependence and promote value addition across key sectors.President Dr.

Hussein Ali Mwinyi emphasized the importance of leveraging regional and international markets, particularly the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and China's zero-tariff policies, to diversify Tanzania's export destinations.

Industry and Trade Minister Judith Kapinga noted the fair's evolution into a commerce facilitation platform, fostering long-term business relationships and supporting young entrepreneurs.

The event also integrated public services, with over 97,350 visitors accessing government and private sector services, including healthcare and business registration.

The success of DITF underscores Tanzania's strategic focus on industrialization, regional trade integration, and creating a competitive business environment to drive sustainable growth.
