The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has introduced a new electronic Know-Your-Customer (eKYC) feature in its TESDA Skills Passport to strengthen identity verification for jobseekers and learners.

This update allows users to verify their identities through secure methods like matching personal information with the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), liveness checks, or government-issued IDs such as passports, driver's licenses, and SSS IDs.

TESDA Secretary Kiko Benitez emphasized that these measures enhance the platform's credibility as a trusted repository for skills and qualifications.The Skills Passport has gained significant traction, with over 243,000 downloads and 179,000 registered users.

Additionally, TESDA is integrating AI-powered tools like My Career Advisor to provide personalized career guidance and linking the platform with scholarship programs.

These efforts aim to create a seamless ecosystem for training, certification, and employment opportunities, empowering Filipinos to advance their careers through digital skills development.
