The Killers performed live at the 2026 UEFA Champions League Final opening ceremony at Budapest’s Puskás Aréna on 30th May.The band, led by Brandon Flowers, delivered a set of their classic hits including 'When You Were Young', 'Human', 'All These Things That I’ve Done', and 'Mr Brightside'.
The performance transformed the pitch into a neon-lit spectacle inspired by the band’s Las Vegas roots, with a surprise appearance from David Beckham to kick things off.Fans of Arsenal FC were especially enthusiastic, with many noting on social media that their support outshone that of Paris Saint-Germain fans.
Despite Arsenal’s defeat in the subsequent match, many praised the opening ceremony as one of the best ever, with some even joking that 'Mr Brightside' might not play at every wedding in France.
The performance continues a tradition of high-profile musical acts at the Champions League Final, following Linkin Park in 2025 and Lenny Kravitz in 2024.
Brandon Flowers also shared that The Killers’ next album is scheduled for 2027, following his upcoming solo release, promising a continuation of the band's distinctive sound with two completed records recorded in Nashville.
