Three herders were killed and two others injured in an ambush attack in the Tanjol community of Riyom Local Government Area, Plateau State.The victims were grazing their cattle when gunmen ambushed them, killing three and wounding two.The deceased include Abdurrazak Abdullahi, Husaini Idris, and Yusuf Tukur, while the injured are Ayuba Adam and Sadi Adamu.The incident occurred around 2 p.m.on Sunday, 19 July 2026.MACBAN, the cattle breeders association, condemned the attack as unprovoked and accused members of the Berom ethnic group of carrying it out.The Berom community denied the allegations, claiming the victims were attackers who were neutralized by vigilantes.The attack highlights ongoing tensions between herders and local communities in the region.
