The Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced three suspects to life imprisonment for their involvement in the abduction of students and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Abdulrazak Umar, Yunusa Musa, and Shamsu Adamu Sani were convicted for their roles in the crime, which included membership in a proscribed terrorist group and concealing information about the abduction plan.During the trial, the defense argued that the accused were first-time offenders who pleaded guilty and showed remorse, requesting leniency.However, the prosecution emphasized their awareness of the victims and the need to report the crime.

The defendants were charged with multiple counts, including terrorism-related offenses and kidnapping, and their sentencing will commence from the date of their arrest.The case highlights the legal consequences of abducting civilians and the state's efforts to combat terrorism through judicial action.
