President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerian doctors and other healthcare professionals living abroad to return home and contribute to the nation's healthcare transformation under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

During a meeting with a delegation from the Nigerian Diaspora Medical Associations Worldwide, Tinubu emphasized the need for skilled professionals to help build a resilient healthcare system.

He highlighted the government's plans to invest in medical education, digital health infrastructure, and collaboration with diaspora professionals to reverse brain drain.The president also shared his own journey from working abroad to returning to Nigeria, stressing the importance of patriotism and innovation.The event, part of the 2026 National Diaspora Day Celebration, saw the presence of key ministers and officials.

Tinubu commended the doctors for their recent medical outreach programs, which provided critical services across the country, and urged them to act as ambassadors for Nigeria's renewed optimism.

The delegation, led by NIDCOM CEO Abike Dabiri-Erewa, expressed commitment to supporting Nigeria's healthcare goals, with the Ministry of Health planning to make diaspora collaboration an annual event.
