A father and his teenage daughter lost their lives after falling into an abandoned well in Yancibi Village, Kano State.The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when Abubakar Abdullahi, aged around 45, and his 15-year-old daughter Fiddausi accidentally slipped into the well.Despite immediate rescue efforts by local fire service teams, the darkness and challenging conditions hindered the operation.By Wednesday morning, a team from the Fire Service Headquarters recovered both victims, who were found unconscious and later confirmed dead.The bodies were handed over to the Village Head of Yancibi, Shamsu Sani.Authorities urged residents to avoid entering wells without proper safety equipment.This tragic event highlights the dangers of neglected infrastructure and the importance of community awareness.The incident has sparked discussions about safety measures in rural areas and the need for better maintenance of abandoned structures.
