A 63-year-old man, Yunus Kundawala, died on Sunday afternoon after a tree uprooted by heavy rain and strong winds crashed onto his two-wheeler in Mumbai’s Kurla West.

The incident occurred near the BMC school in Kamani area, where rescue teams arrived swiftly following reports from Roshan Shinde, a local corporator's personal assistant.Kundawala sustained severe injuries before being taken to Fauzia Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.This marks the third rain-related fatality in Mumbai since May, with previous incidents involving a 15-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy.Authorities noted that the fallen tree disrupted electricity supply, and restoration efforts are ongoing.The incident highlights the dangers of intense monsoon conditions, prompting concerns about safety during extreme weather.Rescue operations involved the Mumbai Fire Brigade, local police, BEST, and BMC ward officials, who worked to clear debris and secure the area.Such events underscore the need for heightened vigilance in urban areas prone to weather-related hazards.
