Troops under Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) collaborated with Benue State Civil Protection Guard to eliminate two suspected bandits and rescue three kidnapped victims in Katsina-Ala LGA.The operation, conducted between July 16-17, 2026, targeted armed criminals in Tse Togo and Utenge communities.Soldiers engaged in a fierce gunfight, killing two suspects while rescuing victims including a teacher, spare parts dealer, and farmer.Weapons, ammunition, and military gear were recovered.Force Commander Major General Moses Gara praised the troops' performance and reiterated commitment to combating insecurity.The operation highlights ongoing efforts to tackle banditry in the region.
