Two additional bomb experts affiliated with the terrorist group Dawlah Islamiyah were arrested in Mamasapano, Maguindanao del Sur.Saidamen Amilil and Razid Hazim were apprehended by a joint police and military team led by Maguindanao del Sur police director Col.Michael John Mangahis.

The suspects, who are followers of Muslimin Amilil—a former bombmaker implicated in the 2015 Mamasapano massacre of 44 police commandos—were found in possession of a .45-caliber pistol, grenade, and schematic diagrams for improvised explosive devices.Muslimin, who was arrested earlier in the same barangay, is also being held at the Mamasapano police jail.The arrests follow a broader crackdown on terror-linked activities, with authorities seizing weapons and dismantling networks tied to the group.The operation highlights ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in Mindanao, where such incidents have plagued the region for years.The suspects’ connection to Malaysian bomb expert Zulkifli bin Hir, who died in the 2015 clash, underscores the transnational nature of the threat.Police emphasized that the arrests are part of a coordinated strategy to neutralize extremist elements and prevent further attacks.
