The Bloemfontein High Court has sentenced two men to life imprisonment for the murder of Andries Mgoqi, a former Centlec chief executive officer.Nkwebe Seatile and Tlotlisang Monyane were convicted for the fatal shooting of Mgoqi outside a tavern in Bergman, which occurred during a violent crime spree in early 2024.The suspects had previously been linked to an attempted murder case involving a 53-year-old man at a nightclub in Bloemfontein.

Police investigations, led by Detective Sergeant Lethola Taiwe and Captain Jacques Wilson, tracked the suspects to a safe house in Wepener where they were arrested on February 23, 2024.The prosecution revealed that both men were hired to carry out the attacks.Judge Van Zyl emphasized the court's duty to protect society from contract killings and ensure severe punishment for such crimes.

Seatile received life imprisonment for murder and an additional 10 years for attempted murder, while Monyane was sentenced to life for murder and two years for assault with intent to cause grievous harm.
