Uncertainty remains over a potential second season of Spider-Noir following its Prime Video debut

Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse universe has expanded into television with the release of ‘Spider-Noir’, a new spin-off series now available on Amazon Prime Video. The show premiered on 27 May 2026 and consists of eight episodes, which viewers can watch in either black and white or colour.

It stars Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly, a down-on-his-luck private investigator operating in 1930s New York, who is also dealing with the aftermath of his former life as the city’s only superhero. The supporting cast includes Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston and Brendan Gleeson. As of 28 May 2026, Amazon has not yet confirmed whether the series will be renewed for a second season.Any decision is expected to depend on viewing figures and audience reception over the coming weeks as data from its launch period is assessed.Despite the lack of official renewal, there is clear openness from those involved in the project.

Executive producers Christopher Miller and Phil Lord have both expressed enthusiasm for continuing the story, noting in interviews that they would be willing to produce more episodes if given the opportunity.Showrunner Oren Uziel has also suggested that the format of the series naturally lends itself to continuation.

He explained that, as a private detective narrative, each new season could introduce fresh clients, new cases and different storylines, allowing the world of Spider-Noir to expand indefinitely.

While no second season has been confirmed, the creative team has indicated that the series was conceived with long-term storytelling potential in mind.
