Indian Embassy in Washington renews $1.8 million lobbying contract with SHW Partners for outreach to the Trump administration
The Ministry Of Environment, Forest And Climate Change has relieved the private secretary and two additional secretaries of their duties from the office of Union environment minister Bhupender Yadav. This development comes as part of a series of orders issued on July 3 by Vibhuti Paniyar, under secretary to the Government Of India. The exact reason for the removal remains undisclosed.
The private secretary, Amar Singh, an IRS-IT officer of the 2010 batch, has been repatriated to his parent cadre in the Department Of Revenue on administrative grounds.
Singh, who was previously associated with Yadav's office during his tenure as Labour minister (2021-2024), was reappointed as PS after Yadav became Environment minister post-2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Additional PS Shailesh Kumar Singh from Central Secretariat Service (CSS) was also transferred to Department Of Personnel And Training (DoPT) with an extended cooling-off period. The second additional PS, Ayush Saran, was terminated immediately. No official response has been received from the ministry or Yadav's office.
This administrative reshuffle highlights ongoing changes in government staffing protocols, though the lack of transparency around the reasons for these moves has raised questions about internal governance processes.
