An American national, Jordan Brown, was detained by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) near the India-Nepal border in Uttar Pradesh's Mainihwa area.According to police, Brown entered India via a sea route in November 2025 without valid travel documents and has been residing in Goa since then.

During questioning, he revealed that he lost his passport in Thailand while on a tourist visa and traveled to Sri Lanka before entering India again by sea.No valid documents were found in his possession, leading authorities to register a case under Sections 21/23 of the Immigration and Foreigners Act.The incident highlights irregular migration patterns and border security challenges.

This follows another recent case where five Ukrainians and a US national were arrested for allegedly providing terror training to ethnic armed groups in Myanmar.Both incidents underscore cross-border law enforcement complexities and the need for stricter immigration controls.
