The U.S.Navy is collaborating with Air and Fathom5 to modernize its maintenance and repair systems through an integrated platform combining enterprise logistics software with artificial intelligence.

This partnership aims to replace fragmented maintenance systems with a connected platform that enables sailors to identify parts, predict equipment failures, and complete work orders even in communications-limited environments.

The initiative builds on Fathom5’s success in the Defense Innovation Unit’s NextMRO Prize Challenge, where its software transformed operational Navy maintenance data into practical applications for sailors.

By integrating AI-powered Condition-Based Maintenance technology with Air’s Enterprise Readiness platform, the system connects maintenance planning, logistics, supply chains, and repair forecasting across multiple support levels.

Key features include natural language searches for technical manuals, real-time parts inventory reviews, predictive failure analysis, and rapid supplier identification.The platform also supports operations in contested environments (DDIL) by ensuring access to critical data even with degraded connectivity.Early results show significant improvements: part identification times were reduced by 99.6%, cutting repair delays and maintaining equipment readiness at around 90%.

This collaboration addresses the 'Readiness Gap' between operational needs and logistics systems, promising faster digital workflows, increased equipment availability, and enhanced mission-readiness for naval operations.
