Wajir North woman representative Fatuma Jehow made her first official visit to her constituency since winning the 2022 election, arriving by helicopter.

The visit, described as a development tour, was met with 'Wantam' chants from some crowds, a term used to signal lack of support for re-election.Jehow distributed bursaries and sanitary towels to students at Bute Girls Secondary School, a place she last visited in 2015.

In a statement, she praised the community bonds and emphasized her commitment to equitable development through the National Government Affirmative Action Fund.Despite the scrutiny over her absence, Jehow claimed her office continued delivering services to the constituency.The visit highlighted ongoing engagement efforts with residents to address development priorities.
