A webinar titled ‘Untapped Hydrocarbon Frontiers – A Forward-Looking Perspective for India’ was conducted on Saturday in Vijayawada, bringing together experts, students, and professionals to discuss key aspects of petroleum exploration and hydrocarbon resource management.

The event was organised by Hyderabad-based education platform AvaniXplore LLP in collaboration with EarthScholar Professional Academy and MindSpark Learning Hub.

During the session, speakers focused on important themes such as petroleum exploration techniques, basin analysis, hydrocarbon resource identification and management, and India’s long-term energy outlook.

The discussions highlighted the growing relevance of energy security for India, particularly in the context of global volatility in crude oil prices and geopolitical tensions in West Asia.Experts emphasised the need for diversified hydrocarbon sourcing strategies, given that India remains one of the world’s largest crude oil importers.The webinar also provided an academic and professional platform for knowledge exchange between industry practitioners and students.

According to the organisers, the session received 247 registrations and witnessed active participation from around 160 attendees, including more than 130 students and over 30 professionals from both industry and academic backgrounds across India.

Participants were exposed to forward-looking perspectives on emerging opportunities in hydrocarbon exploration, along with discussions on how technological advancements and better geological analysis can improve resource management.The event aimed to encourage young learners to engage with energy sector challenges and contribute to India’s evolving energy landscape.

Overall, the webinar underscored the importance of strategic planning in hydrocarbon development and the role of education in strengthening India’s energy future.
