Cricket Ireland chief says T20 series win over India will improve Ireland’s global standing
Visakhapatnam will host the ASMITA South Zone Women’s Canoeing and Kayaking League from July 3-4, 2026, at the Gambeeramgedda Reservoir under the Khelo India initiative.
Organized by the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) and the Canoeing and Kayaking Association of Andhra Pradesh (CKAAP), the event aims to encourage women's participation in sports, identify emerging talent, and promote water sports across the country.
Athletes from southern states will compete in sub-junior, junior, senior, and women’s categories across kayak and canoe sprint events over distances of 200m, 500m, and 1,000m.
The championship also highlights the reservoir's potential as a premier water sports destination, with organizers inviting the public to attend and support the athletes.The event underscores efforts to create opportunities for women in competitive sports while showcasing regional sporting infrastructure.
