Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has distributed 50 new buses to members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) under a state government vehicle loan scheme.The buses were handed over at the Government House in Gusau, with each vehicle costing N27.39 million, of which the state provided a 20% subsidy of N5.478 million.Beneficiaries will repay N21.912 million over 44 months, with NURTW overseeing allocation and repayment.

The governor also commissioned five fire trucks to boost firefighting capacity, emphasizing the need for maintenance, training, and public safety awareness.He warned against vandalism, misuse, or diversion of assets, requiring quarterly reports from ministries and beneficiaries.The initiative aims to improve public transport, economic empowerment, and road services.

The move reflects the state's focus on infrastructure development and public safety, aligning with broader efforts to enhance transportation and emergency response systems.
