Zanzibar's Mayor praised President Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi for supporting community engagement initiatives after the successful hosting of a massive fan zone event that drew thousands to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

The event, organized by Mixx and Electronics Hub Zanzibar in Kisonge, featured large screens showing Spain vs Argentina, government officials, private sector representatives, and football enthusiasts.

The mayor highlighted the event's role in strengthening social bonds, generating economic opportunities, and positioning Zanzibar as a regional sports and entertainment hub.

Mixx's Zanzibar Manager emphasized the company's commitment to community-focused initiatives, while Electronics Hub CEO noted it was the first time the archipelago hosted such a fan zone.
