Bulls prepare for tough URC quarter-final against Munster
Bulls coach Johan Ackermann has urged his squad to handle the pressure of their URC quarter-final clash against Munster at Loftus Versfeld without being weighed down by it.
The Pretoria side are aiming for their fifth successive semi-final appearance, having reached the quarter-finals every season since South African teams joined the competition.
Despite having reached three finals under Jake White without clinching the title, Ackermann believes maintaining their usual style of play, rather than being restricted by nerves, is key.
The Bulls have been in strong form recently, with only one loss in their last ten URC matches, and Loftus Versfeld has once again proven a challenging venue for visiting teams.Munster, a team with a solid play-off record, arrive with a reputation for performing well on the road, though their 2026 away form has been patchy.Historically, the Bulls hold a slight edge over Munster, winning three of their five encounters.Ackermann emphasised that rugby is only part of life, encouraging players to focus on their mindset and execution on match day.Kick-off is scheduled for 1pm, with the Bulls fielding a strong lineup including Handré Pollard at flyhalf and Marcell Coetzee as captain.
