Ali Musa Gilani denies UAE deportation claims, calls reports fake

MNA Ali Musa Gilani, son of former prime minister and Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, has strongly denied social media claims suggesting that he was deported from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), he termed the reports as completely false and clarified that he travelled according to his planned schedule and returned to Pakistan without any issue. He said that the allegation of deportation was misleading and had no factual basis.

The controversy began when a post by former vice chancellor of the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics, Nadeem Haque, suggested that Gilani had been deported, triggering wider discussion online about the value of Pakistani passports and diplomatic relations. The post was later deleted, but not before it gained attention on social media. In response, Gilani not only rejected the claim but also shared a photograph from his recent UAE visit as supporting context.

He further tagged relevant authorities including the National Cybercrime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, urging action against what he described as misinformation damaging Pakistan’s image and its relations with the UAE.Gilani stressed that such false narratives should not be used to create unnecessary controversy or spread hatred against national institutions.

He also highlighted that the UAE government continues to uphold visa arrangements for holders of Pakistani official passports, crediting both the Interior Ministry and Foreign Office for efforts in strengthening diplomatic travel facilitation.Additionally, he appealed for responsible use of social media and encouraged users to avoid spreading unverified claims.

Separately, official government statements have previously denied reports of any targeted deportation of Pakistanis from the UAE, clarifying that immigration-related actions, where they occur, are based on administrative or legal grounds rather than nationality-based policies.
