Eleven-year-old boy rescued from burning storage container; 13-year-old arrested
Pop singer Britney Spears, aged 44, was arrested in southern California after being stopped for driving erratically at high speed in her BMW convertible.During the incident, police noted that she displayed drastic mood swings and occasionally spoke in a British accent.Officers reported she appeared both confrontational and compliant at different moments.Spears was found in possession of Adderall, a prescription stimulant, which she had not been prescribed. She told police she had taken Lamictal to manage mood swings and Adderall to feel 'elevated'.In an unusual gesture, Spears invited officers to her home for lasagne and mentioned having a pool.Despite claiming she had only one drink earlier in the day, she was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
She later entered a plea deal, reducing the charge to a 'wet reckless', receiving 12 months of summary probation, a day in jail, a £425 fine, and a three-month DUI programme.Spears, who has a history of substance abuse issues, had previously been under a conservatorship managed by her father, which ended five years ago. This latest incident adds to her public struggles with mental health and substance management over the years.
