Bureau of Immigration confirms no travel records for Senator Bato dela Rosa amid ICC warrant monitoring

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has confirmed that there are no recent records of Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa leaving the Philippines through any international ports of entry or exit, amid ongoing monitoring related to an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant.

BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval stated in an interview that the agency’s records show no documented overseas travel by the senator in its monitored international airports and seaports.

She emphasized that the BI’s jurisdiction covers international points of entry and exit, including airports and seaports such as the Zamboanga International Seaport.

However, she clarified that areas like bays are outside BI coverage and are instead monitored by local government units, the Philippine Coast Guard, and the police.

The statement comes as authorities continue to track the senator’s whereabouts, with the Philippine National Police previously saying that Dela Rosa remains in the country while enforcement efforts related to the ICC warrant are being prepared.

Dela Rosa is currently under an Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order, which allows authorities to monitor his movements and notify relevant agencies if there are attempts to leave the country.

Justice officials earlier said that an ILBO had been issued and that authorities would arrest him if he attempted to depart, describing such an act as a possible “mockery of justice.

” The ICC has issued a warrant against Dela Rosa for alleged crimes against humanity of murder, linked to the anti-drug campaign during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte, covering the period from July 2016 to April 2018.Despite acknowledging the existence of the ICC warrant, Dela Rosa’s camp has previously stated that it is not enforceable in the Philippines. The senator has also been absent from Senate sessions for months, with a brief reappearance in May for a leadership-related vote.
