BYD has launched a new Performance variant of its Shark 6 model, featuring the DMO Super Hybrid system that combines a 2.0l turbocharged petrol engine with front and rear electric motors.This setup delivers 350kW of power and 700Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100km/h sprint time of 5.5 seconds.The vehicle also boasts a braked towing capacity of 3,500kg, making it ideal for towing trailers and caravans.With a 29.58kWh battery, the Shark 6 Performance offers an 80km all-electric range and a combined WLTP range of 640km.Charging options include AC (7kW) and DC (55kW), with full charges taking 4 hours and 35 minutes respectively.The V2L technology allows powering external devices, while the DMO all-wheel-drive system enhances off-road capability.Interior features include a 15.6-inch touchscreen, Google Automotive Services, and premium cabin amenities.Priced from R1,149,900, the model comes with a five-year/100,000km warranty and an eight-year/200,000km battery warranty.The update underscores BYD’s focus on hybrid innovation in the South African market.
