CBSE’s shift to on-screen marking sparks debate over implementation pace and preparedness
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the last date for students to apply for scanned copies of their answer sheets till May 25 after several students reported technical issues on the official portal.
Many candidates and parents faced difficulties while submitting requests online, including login failures, payment errors, and server-related problems.Due to these complaints, the matter received attention from authorities, and the Centre stepped in to help resolve the portal issues. The extension has provided relief to students who were worried about missing the deadline because of the repeated glitches.
Scanned copies of answer sheets are important for students who wish to review their evaluated papers before applying for verification of marks or re-evaluation.
CBSE said that the additional time has been given to ensure that all students get a fair opportunity to access the service without being affected by technical disruptions.Officials are reportedly working on improving the stability and performance of the portal so that applications can be processed smoothly.Students have been advised to keep checking the official CBSE website for updates and complete their applications before the revised deadline.
The board’s move is being seen as a student-friendly decision, especially at a time when many candidates are anxious about their examination results and further admission processes.
