The Ebonyi State Government has intensified efforts to enforce a ban on graduation, valedictory, and prize-giving ceremonies in public and private schools.Over 106 surveillance and security personnel have been deployed across the state’s 13 Local Government Areas to monitor compliance.

The Commissioner for Primary and Secondary Education, Donatus Ilang, warned school administrators against hosting these events on church premises, stating that violating institutions will face severe penalties.Investigations are ongoing into over 158 schools accused of breaching the directive.Principals and proprietors who fail to refund illegally collected graduation fees will face disciplinary action.Ilang emphasized strict enforcement, urging officers to report violations through dedicated hotlines.Only ministry-appointed personnel are authorized to enforce the policy, ensuring accountability.The move aims to prevent unauthorized celebrations while safeguarding educational standards.
