A man in Ondo State, Nigeria, has been arrested for allegedly burning his 10-year-old daughter's private part with a hot iron as punishment for bedwetting.

The incident, which shocked local authorities, was reported to the police after the child sustained severe burns and was taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Owo for treatment.Police confirmed that the suspect, Amos Paul, was swiftly arrested by detectives from the 'A' Division in Owo Local Government Area.

The case has been transferred to the Command’s Gender Unit for a discreet investigation, with the police commissioner condemning the act as 'cruel, inhumane, and completely unacceptable.
