A heavy downpour has caused severe flooding in Igarra, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, destroying over 20 houses and affecting commercial, residential, and religious buildings.A motorcyclist named Uche was swept away by floodwaters and his body was recovered two days later.Floods also destroyed graves near the Igarra Police Station and completely buried several homes for days.The incident, which occurred exactly 10 years after a similar flood, has left many residents without property or livelihood.

Local officials, including councillor Asebe Rabi and chairman Alabi Oshionogue, confirmed the devastation and stated that authorities like SEMA have been informed.They are working to clear drainage systems and provide support to affected families.The flooding has impacted areas like Iretutu axis, Pope Francis Road, and Market Road, highlighting the urgent need for disaster management.
