A former Uttarakhand Police constable, Sher Singh, has been implicated in a land-grab operation linked to jailed gangster Praveen Valmiki.According to police, Singh was arrested in September 2025 after evidence surfaced showing his involvement in helping gangsters intimidate a widow and her family in a disputed land case.The gang, associated with Valmiki, allegedly committed crimes like murder, extortion, and illegal land occupation.The widow's brother and brother-in-law were shot by gang members, forcing her to flee Roorkee with her children.During her absence, the property was illegally occupied and sold fraudulently.The widow and her family were later threatened to withdraw legal action.Singh is accused of using his police position to coordinate with Valmiki while he was in jail and during court appearances.The case was registered under cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy charges.The investigation continues to examine the gang's activities and the land transaction details.
