FRSC Sends 950 Personnel, Ambulances and Patrol Vehicles Across Kwara for Eid-El-Kabir Traffic Operations

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kwara State Sector Command don deploy 950 officers, marshals, special marshals and emergency responders across the state to maintain road safety and smooth traffic movement during the Eid-El-Kabir celebration period.

According to the command, the special operation go run from May 25 to May 31, 2026, and e include 16 patrol vehicles, four ambulances and one 70-tonne tow truck for emergency response and clearing broken-down vehicles from major roads.

The information was contained inside statement wey the Public Education Officer of the command, Olayinka Basambo, release on behalf of the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kabiru Kazeem.

The command explain say officers and marshals don already position for strategic highways, busy junctions, Ilorin metropolis and other traffic-prone areas across Kwara State.

FRSC say the aim of the operation na to reduce road crashes during the festive season, improve traffic control, provide quick rescue services and remove obstructions from highways to avoid heavy congestion.

The command also talk say officers go carry out public awareness campaigns for motor parks, markets, churches, mosques and other public places to educate drivers and passengers on road safety measures.

Kazeem warn motorists against traffic offences wey normally cause accidents, including overloading, dangerous driving, excessive speeding, wrongful overtaking, use of phones while driving, tyre violations, lane indiscipline and failure to use seat belts.He also caution drivers against mixing passengers with goods.According to the Sector Commander, the operation no be only for enforcement but mainly to protect lives and property during the celebration period.He advise residents and travellers to remain safety conscious and drive responsibly, stressing say “Only the living celebrates.”
