The Philippine government continues to implement measures to improve nationwide water services, including developing new water sources, expanding networks, and pursuing legal remedies against water districts and joint venture partners that fail to meet obligations.

During a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro highlighted the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA)'s efforts under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to enhance water services.

LWUA is addressing leaks to reduce water losses, ensuring compliance from water districts and their partners, and holding entities accountable for violations.The administration aims to resolve issues with PrimeWater and other providers following complaints about unreliable supply and high rates.

These initiatives are part of the government's infrastructure and public service agenda ahead of Marcos' fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 27.

Castro emphasized that LWUA is examining service quality and exploring legal actions against non-compliant entities to ensure equitable water access for citizens.
